Planning Platinum - The wealth of information available on participation and trends
Australia has a rich history of collecting data on sport and physical activity participation that can inform planning – from the Exercise, Recreation and Sport Survey (ERASS) in 2000-10, to the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2011-14, and then the AusPlay survey from 2015 onwards. The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) designed AusPlay to provide deep insights about participation, track trends and identify the ways in which participation is changing. The ASC has compared 2015-17 AusPlay data with the decade of ERASS data from 2001-10. This presentation will provide insights into current participation and show trends over the last 17 years.
