Improving Sports Environments for Women
VicHealth’s This Girl Can – Victoria campaign celebrates women who are giving it a go and getting active no matter how well they do it, how they look or how sweaty they get. However, the campaign is about more than encouraging women to give it a try, that’s only one half of the equation. This session will share some learnings from VicHealth’s most recent work over the past 3 years on how to create welcoming and inclusive environments where all kinds of women want to be active. It considers, how to do sport differently to appeal to women, how to utilise places and spaces women enjoy and how to support less active women to become more active.
