Abstract title

5 steps needed to maintain heavily used sporting fields in good condition

Abstract

A recent survey of 600 sporting fields found 35% were in poor condition, with a further 20% in very poor and often dangerous condition. Despite this, several heavily used sporting fields maintained acceptable turf cover throughout the year. This talk presents the findings of this study and highlights the key steps needed to maintain heavily used sporting fields in acceptable condition. These findings can be used to reduce turf patching and hence sporting field maintenance costs.
