The Domain Parklands are one of the most beautiful and treasured parklands within the City of Melbourne. Rich in history, the parklands are the setting for a number of unique destinations including the Royal Botanic Gardens, Government House, Shrine of Remembrance and Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The parklands cover an area of 123 hectares, with 1.8 km of frontage to the Yarra River. This tour will explore the parklands, focusing on the development of a new 20 year master plan for the Domain Parklands. A key ingredient of the master plan is the partnerships between the five Land Managers within the parklands. The Royal Botanic Gardens will introduce the master plan they are developing. The value of collaboration and opportunities that have arisen with these plans will be discussed.
